While taking away physical pain needs intervention, sometimes changing your perspective or shifting your mindset can ease your mental state and emotional feelings…

You come to the conclusion that chemotherapy is the best path forward and understand the science and side effects. (Please don’t misinterpret my upcoming suggestion that I’m making light of what happens during these treatments… or afterwards.) However, might you consider… the power of changing your perspective? In your mind, shift how you think and feel about your upcoming chemo visit as a positive experience. Instead of dreading the trips, perhaps look at each visit as a fun excursion and something to look forward to?

To see my friend “Rachael” possess this positive attitude was not only surprising but inspirational. Each visit, for the entire length of her chemotherapy, she would invite an upbeat friend or family member to accompany her where they would share the latest fashion/tabloid or sports magazine, talk about the latest current affairs or stream a funny tv show/movie together, play some good ole fashion card games, and even bust out the latest fashionable nail color.

How can you make your chemo visits more enjoyable?
